International PR: A Semester Shared with Prague

This semester I signed up to participate in a cultural exchange with International Studies Abroad for their Classmates Connecting Cultures project.

Each semester a student abroad is paired up with a classroom in the US and asked to facilitate regular discussion around a topic. Students in the US ask questions and the student abroad shares stories, photos and experiences through multimedia or a blog. Our COMM 2337 course was selected to partner with a student from South Dakota studying in Prague for the Fall 2011 semester. Every few weeks we will connect with her via Skype or email to talk about what we are learning inside the classroom and compare it to her experience of Marketing and PR in the Czech Republic, outside of the classsroom.

Meet Kaitlin Christenson

I am a student at the University of South Dakota pursuing a major in contemporary media and journalism with a specialty in public relations and a minor in international studies. Your class be a great connection to have back home in the states g. I have really enjoyed the city in the last week that I have been here, there is so much culture and and I am so excited to start blogging.

What should we ask her first? Please leave your comments and suggestions below.
We will brainstorm some other questions and talking points during our next class.

(Disclaimer, I work for ISA as the Director or PR but this project is unrelated to my position and something I wanted to do as an educator.)
